Important Updates for Australian Visa Applicants
Organ Transplantation and Visa Applications:
The Foreign Organ Transplantation Information Disclosure Bill 2023 proposes additional questions on the Incoming Passenger Card. Passengers will be asked if they have received an organ transplant outside Australia in the past 5 years. If yes, they must provide the name and location of the transplant. This information will be considered in the character assessment process, and visas may be denied if the Department of Home Affairs suspects involvement in illegal organ trafficking.
Health Examination Requirements:
Relaxed health examination requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic have been reverted to pre-pandemic standards. All visa applications must now include an updated health examination result.
Subclass 491 Skilled Regional Visa Updates for New South Wales (NSW):
There are two pathways for the subclass 491 visa in NSW:
Pathway 1: Direct application to Investment NSW for individuals with a history of employment with a NSW company.
Pathway 2: Invitation by Investment NSW for individuals considered to meet the state's workforce needs.
